The advent of January generally puts new wind under our sails. We wipe the sweat off our brow from the travails of the previous year, and we set high hopes for the new year. I am Cheri, great jumper of hoops. Of this title I am deservedly proud.

The late Robert Kennedy of the famed and privileged Kennedy clan often quoted that verse to his family. Given much, they demanded much of themselves. The family viewed public service as its way of giving back.

Happy Not-the-Same-Old Year
We often meet the new year with good intentions – usually the typical plans to exercise more, eat less, write that magnum opus, or launch into a new hobby. Truth is, however, we may come into the new year so beaten down by the old one that our resolutions have lost their steam before the train ever left the platform.
