Wives, submit yourselves to your own husbands as you do to the Lord. For the husband is the head of the wife as Christ is the head of the church, His body, of which He is the Savior. The Good Wife

I always cringe when I see promos for CBS’ The Good Wife because it’s so clear the title is a misnomer. A recent promo showed her responding to her husband’s insistence that his affair meant nothing by saying, “Well, mine did,” or some such blather. Add this to the long list of shows I never need to watch.

Feelings, Nothing More than Feelings

“Sorry, but I’m happily married.”

People use words like these as an out to an extramarital relationship, and we applaud them. “How wonderful that someone would cling to his marital vows!” we think. It’s all very honorable. Isn’t it?
