We think of Thanksgiving as a time to give thanks for our blessings, but sometimes the holidays don’t bring to mind thoughts of abundance. They instead remind us of loss and want.

A Mother’s Memories – on Wheels

This Mother’s Day weekend – when we also celebrate 28 years of marriage – is a bit of a bittersweet one. The mom in me feels as if we’re giving away more than 14 years of memories. It’s time to trade in our minivan.

Merciful Me

An old friend and I stood side by side in her kitchen preparing lunch for our mixed brood. We laughed as we shared stories about ways our children tried to garner our sympathy.

“My children should know better. Mercy is just not my gift,” my friend laughed.
