It’s Almost Shoutin’ Time

Bev and Jerry are having marital problems. You can tell by just looking at them.

Vickie’s daughter got pregnant, and she’s not even married! No one will want to go to that shower.

Did you hear Joy and Dana aren’t even talking anymore, even though they taught together for 20 years?

Oh, to hear church members talk, you would think there are no secrets

style=”letter-spacing: 0.0px;”> within the body of Christ. But there are. And the secrets that we keep are of the most devastating kind.

To the one slinking down in his seat: When are you going to get help to overcome your secret addition to child porn?

And you, the woman everyone thinks has the perfect marriage and the perfect life: When are you going to delete that fake online dating account?

To the guy who becomes a mean drunk by night and a model Christian each Sunday: When does the charade end?

And you, the woman who visits a multitude of doctors for fake conditions so that she can feed your prescription drug addiction: When will you realize it’s not just your own life you’re ruining?

What about you, the guy who flirts with his secretary and talks about his wife as if she’s worthless: Do you really marvel at why God doesn’t hear your prayers?

To you, that young person who’s so hooked on technology that he can’t even have a real relationship: Have you wondered what it feels like to give and not just take?

I have news for all of you: Your secrets won’t remain secret much longer.

“Accordingly, whatever you have said in the dark will be heard in the light, and what you have whispered in the inner rooms will be proclaimed upon the housetops. ” – Luke 12:3

Your secrets will be shouted from the housetops. And worse yet, they will prevent you from living the full and abundant life Jesus came to give you and from receiving your full reward in eternity.

“For we must all appear before the judgment seat of Christ, so that each one may be recompensed for his deeds in the body, according to what he has done, whether good or bad.” – 2 Corinthians 5:10

So very much is at stake, my friends, and time is so very short. I have said this again and again. The body of Christ must begin to confront our sin and hold one another accountable before God, who will not tarry much longer.

“If anyone sees a brother committing a sin not leading to death, he shall ask and God will for him give life to those who commit sin not leading to death. ” – 1 John 5:16

This world is lost and dying, yet we are so enamored of our own sins that we are incapable and unqualified to offer the only true healing balm this world has ever known. True peace and true love are impossible apart from Christ. We must get right with God so that we may be His hands, His feet and His mouthpiece.

“If my people, who are called by My name, will humble themselves and pray and seek My face and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven and will forgive their sin and will heal their land.” – 2 Chronicles 7:14

It’s time to let the light of Christ shine on our dark secrets, my friends. It’s almost shoutin’ time.

Note: Many churches have Celebrate Freedom programs designed to help people break free from bondage and be more than conquerors in Christ. Search for a program in your area, or ask a pastor for help.
