Why Weight?

 

Meet my nemesis, the scale. My scale and I go back many years and a couple of sizes. I greet it just about every morning, though seldom with a smile or a kind word. Like most women, I am unhappy with my weight. I hate looking at pictures or video of myself because I mourn the loss of Thin.

Like most mothers, I have a little grizzly mama in me. Mess with my kids, and I just may rear up on my hind legs and get a little wild. But life does mess with our kids, and it never stops being hard. Maybe sometimes it’s harder on us than on them. Or maybe it just feels like it.

What Not to Swear

The heavenly hosts look at the subject and shake their heads. “Okay, let’s go in,” one says to the other.
In a flash, they’re standing before a startled woman who stumbles back in shock. “Do I know you?” she asks.
